What is bismuth oxychloride? A synthetic color additive that chemically resembles arscenic giving the apperance of shine or shimmer in make-up. Bismuth oxychloride is well known in skin care to irritate or itch sensitve skin types, it is a heavy element so extra buffing is needed to “stick” to your skin (hence the multiple step process). Local makeup company Cor Cosmetics now has a home. Esthetician Amber Brophy has set up a studio in the Lakeshore Towers near Lake Hood (3105 Lakeshore Drive, Building B). She’ll offer makeup consultations in studio, but is still providing all of her on-location services for weddings and other special events. The studio will also double as a boutique for customers to shop her line. If you’re interested in checking out Cor’s new digs you’ll need to make an appointment, so give Brophy a call at 727-4220.

February 17th, Amber and Treya did our first photo shoot with Matthew Gore of Lucid Lense Productions Talk about fantastic! We worked with the Arctic Angels Dance Ensemble on some of their promotion shots! Our myspace page has them up! All hair done by Brian with Salon Ivy! He did GREAT work!

February 24th we did a Wedding at the Sheraton for a couple. The Sheraton is fantastic because some of their Wedding packages include a large, comfortable room for the Bridal party to get ready in. The photographer was Rebecca from Photogenic Alaskawho we have worked a lot with in the last year. (Photos soon to come)

March 3rd, we did an unusual Wedding. The Bride and Groom are HUGE fans of Alaska and the Iditarod and flew all the way from New Jersey to watch the sled dog race start and have a Wedding! After a flight being 24 delayed, they got here right in the nick of time to make all their dreams come true! They even hiked up to The Anchorage Lookout at sunset with Chugach Peaks Photography I’ve been hearing more and more about this company and cannot WAIT to see the photos from this one! www.chugachpeaks.com
